Readings during the Liturgy of the Word are taken from the Bible and may not be replaced by readings from other sources. The scripture readings are normally chosen by the couple from books on marriage which are available from the priest.

Some of the more popular readings chosen are available on this site.

Sample General Intercessions are given here.

The Church has a rich tradition of music. The music which you choose for your wedding ceremony will respect the religious nature of the ceremony. Music choices are many and varied. Musicians are not always available (unless you have your own). Many couples choose to play appropriate music on a CD player.

The parish does not have any person responsible for floral arrangements. It is important that the decoration you desire for the celebration of your marriage are sympathetic to the seasons of the Church’s year.

During Lent until Holy Saturday and Advent floral arrangements are to be more simple.

When there is more than one wedding on a particular day it is appropriate that bridal parties will come to a suitable agreement over the sharing of church decorations and flowers.

Flowers can be arranged by the couple, but this needs to be talked over with the Parish Priest.
Flowers are arranged every weekend by parishioners so they will need to know of wedding flower arrangements, i.e. whether flowers will remain in the Church after the wedding.

It is not permitted to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage from the evening of Holy Thursday until after the Easter Vigil
